This letter introduces a two-dimensional bilinear mapping operator referred to as the cubic phase (CP) function. For first-, second-, or third-order polynomial phase signals, the energy of the CP function is concentrated along the frequency rate law of the signal. The function, thus, has an interpretation as a time-frequency rate representation. The peaks of the CP function yield unbiased estimates of the instantaneous (angular) frequency rate (IFR) and, hence, can be used as the basis for an IFR estimation algorithm. The letter defines an IFR estimation algorithm and theoretically analyzes it. The estimation is seen to be asymptotically optimal at the center of the data record for high signal-to-noise ratios. Simulations are provided to verify the theoretical claims.

A comprehensive review on coordinated multi-point operation for LTE-A

Long Term Evolution Advanced (LTE-Advanced) is the next step in LTE evolution and allows operators to improve network performance and service capabilities through smooth deployment of new techniques and technologies. LTE-Advanced uses some new features on top of the existing LTE standards to provide better user experience and higher throughputs. Some of the most significant features introduced in LTE-Advanced are carrier aggregation, enhancements in heterogeneous networks, coordinated multipoint transmission and reception, enhanced multiple input multiple output usage and deployment of relay nodes in the radio network. Mentioned features are mainly aimed to enhance the radio access part of the cellular networks. This survey article presents an overview of the key radio access features and functionalities of the LTE-Advanced radio access network, supported by the simulation results. We also provide a detailed review of the literature together with a very rich list of the references for each of the features. An LTE-Advanced roadmap and the latest updates and trends in LTE markets are also presented.

LTE-Advanced Radio Access Enhancements: A Survey

The present invention relates to a wireless communication system having at least one base station utilizing CoMP (Coordinated Multi-Point) transmission, wherein a terminal receives a reference signal from said at least one base station. If said at least one base station makes a transmission based on said reference signal through Coordinated beamforming (CB), information based on PMI (precoding matrix index) corresponding to each base station is determined. Accordingly, if said at least one base station makes a transmission based on joint processing, phase set information is determined for phase correction of the formed beam. Thus, the present method transmits feedback information, comprising PMI set information based on CB and said phase set information, from said at least one base station to a server base station.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING FEEDBACK INFORMATION TO TERMINAL IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM USING CoMP TRANSMISSION

The International Telecommunications Union estab- lished through the International Mobile Telecommunications-Advanced a set of requirements for high performance 4rd Generation communication systems and, with the aim of meeting such requirements, 3rd Generation Partnership Project Long Term Evolution (LTE) is considering a set of enhancements, referred to as LTE-Advanced. In LTE-Advanced context, Coordinated Multi-Point (CoMP) communication appears as a promissing technology to boost system throughput and to allow for an efﬁcient Resource Allocation (RA). In this paper, we study RA algorithms that exploit coordination in the Downlink (DL) of CoMP systems to implement adaptive frequency reuse and so improve system throughput. We show through system-level analyzes that quite high throughput gains are achieved through intelligent RA.

Performance Evaluation for Resource Allocation Algorithms in CoMP Systems

In this paper a new technology is introduced for LTE-Advanced to meet the requirement of IMT-Advanced. The proposed scheme is Coordinated multi-point transmission and reception (CoMP). This method not only reduces the inter-cell interference (ICI), but also increases the cell average and cell edge user throughput in the both uplink and downlink. CoMP is specifically introduced in the following part.

This paper introduces the method of high-order ambiguity function (HAF) which is the basic method for estimating the parameters of PPS, and discusses the parameters of estimation error, the cumulative errors when estimating the low order parameters, and the influence from the different between the start of the receiving signal and the real, which are due to the correlation operation. Then aimed at the above limitations, it puts forward a new parameter estimation method of Linear Frequency Modulation (LFM) signal. This method dose's need correlation operation, so it has better effect. Finally, the simulation experiments verify the validity of the algorithm.
