Effect of low-calorie versus low-carbohydrate ketogenic diet in type 2 diabetes

TL;DR: The ketogenic diet appears to improve glycemic control in obese diabetic subjects and should be under strict medical supervision because the LCKD can significantly lower blood glucose levels.

Heat Treatment of Bacteria: A Simple Method of DNA Extraction for Molecular Techniques

TL;DR: Heat may be used to extract DNA from K. pneumoniae which can be utilized successfully in performing PCR, RFL and DNA sequencing.
Journal ArticleDOI

Beneficial effects of ketogenic diet in obese diabetic subjects

TL;DR: This study shows the beneficial effects of ketogenic diet in obese diabetic subjects following its long-term administration and demonstrates that in addition to its therapeutic value, low carbohydrate diet is safe to use for a longer period of time in obesity diabetic subjects.
Journal ArticleDOI

Long Term Effects of Ketogenic Diet in Obese Subjects with High Cholesterol Level

TL;DR: The effect of ketogenic diet in obese subjects with high cholesterol level above 6 mmol/L is compared to those with normocholesterolemia for a period of 56 weeks and demonstrates that low carbohydrate diet is safe to use for a longer period of time in obesity subjects with a high total cholesterol level and those with normal cholesterol level.
Journal ArticleDOI

Treatment of asthenozoospermia with zinc sulphate: andrological, immunological and obstetric outcome.

TL;DR: Zinc therapy has a role in improving sperm parameters in men with asthenozoospermia, probably through its membrane stabilising effect as an antioxidant and its effect on cellular and humoral immunity by reducing the levels of antisperm antibodies and TNFalpha and increasing that of IL-4.
