Journal ArticleDOI
WSXM: a software for scanning probe microscopy and a tool for nanotechnology.
I. Horcas,Raul Fernandez,José M. Gómez-Rodríguez,Jaime Colchero,Julio Gómez-Herrero,A. M. Baró +5 more
TL;DR: The most relevant features of WSXM, a freeware scanning probe microscopy software based on MS-Windows, are described and some relevant procedures of the software are carried out.

Journal ArticleDOI
Minimizing tip-sample forces in jumping mode atomic force microscopy in liquid.
Alvaro Ortega-Esteban,I. Horcas,Mercedes Hernando-Pérez,Pablo Ares,Ana J. Pérez-Berná,C. San Martín,José L. Carrascosa,P. J. de Pablo,Julio Gómez-Herrero +8 more
TL;DR: An improved jumping mode procedure is presented that allows detecting the tip-sample contact with high accuracy, thus minimizing the scanning forces during the approach cycles, and to illustrate this method, images of human adenovirus and T7 bacteriophage particles are reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Scanning force microscopy three-dimensional modes applied to the study of the dielectric response of adsorbed DNA molecules
Cristina Gómez-Navarro,A Gil,Mar Álvarez,P. J. de Pablo,Fernando Moreno-Herrero,I. Horcas,R. Fernández-Sánchez,Jaime Colchero,Julio Gómez-Herrero,A. M. Baró +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, a set of working modes for scanning probe microscopy (SPM) was developed, which generalizes the usual method of acquiring data, called three-dimensional?(3D) modes.
Journal ArticleDOI
‘Flatten plus’: a recent implementation in WSxM for biological research
Alejandro Gimeno,Pablo Ares,I. Horcas,A. Gil,José M. Gómez-Rodríguez,Jaime Colchero,Julio Gómez-Herrero +6 more
TL;DR: 'Flatten plus' allows reducing low-frequency noise in SPM images in a semi-automated way preventing the appearance of typical artifacts associated with such filters.
