Journal ArticleDOI

Spectral characteristics of a compound altering cytochrome P450 spectra from vertebrate microsomes suggest that it is a functional protein

TL;DR: It is suggested that the compound visualized in P450 spectra is a functional protein and not an artifact that may substitute for cytochrome P450 in microsomes under certain environmental conditions and play a role in animal adaptation to unfavorable environmental fluctuations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison of liver mixed-function oxygenase and antioxidant enzymes in vertebrates.

TL;DR: The data indicate that tropical fishes may have reduced xenobiotic-metabolizing ability compared to the rat and amphibians, and the use of sodium dithionate as a reducer, rather than NADPH, may be preferential in b5 determinations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tectona grandis leaf extract, free and associated with nanoemulsions, as a possible photosensitizer of mouse melanoma B16 cell.

TL;DR: It is shown that both free and nanostructured presentations possess the ability to sensitize B16 F10 cells to red light of the LED in vitro, and TGE-NE showed reasonable photocytotoxicity and was much less toxic towards normal cells in the dark compared to free TGE.
