Mantis: an all-sky visible-to-near-infrared hyper-angular spectropolarimeter.

TL;DR: First results from Mantis, a pushbroom type spectropolarimeter recently acquired by the Naval Research Laboratory and built by Polaris Sensor Technologies, Inc are introduced and preliminary data analysis reveals the instrument has a large potential for remote sensing applications.

Optical Properties of Aerosols from Long Term Ground-Based Aeronet Measurements

TL;DR: AERONET as mentioned in this paper is an optical ground-based aerosol monitoring network and data archive supported by NASA's Earth Observing System and expanded by federation with many non-NASA institutions including AEROCAN (AERonet CANADA) and PHOTON (PHOtometrie pour le Traiteinent Operatonnel de Normalisation Satellitaire).
Journal ArticleDOI

The impact of neglecting ice phase on cloud optical depth retrievals from AERONET cloud mode observations

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used a set of idealised cloud profiles and derived a simple linear equation that can be used as a correction at AERONET sites where ice fraction can be independently estimated.
