Closure of mesenteric defects in laparoscopic gastric bypass: a multicentre, randomised, parallel, open-label trial
Erik Stenberg,Eva Szabo,Göran Ågren,Johan Ottosson,Richard Marsk,Hans Lönroth,Lars Boman,Anders Magnuson,Anders Thorell,Ingmar Näslund +9 more

Björn Eliasson,Björn Eliasson,Vasileios Liakopoulos,Stefan Franzén,Ingmar Näslund,Ann-Marie Svensson,Johan Ottosson,Soffia Gudbjörnsdottir +7 more

Jan Hedenbro,Erik Näslund,Lars Boman,Göran Lundegårdh,Amy Bylund,Mikael Ekelund,Anna Laurenius,Peter Möller,Torsten Olbers,Magnus Sundbom,Johan Ottosson,Ingmar Näslund +11 more
TL;DR: Sweden is ideally suited to the task of data collection and audit, with universal use of personal identification numbers, nation-wide registries permitting cross-matching to analyze causes of death, in-hospital care, and health-related absenteeism, and the Scandinavian Obesity Surgery Registry was initiated and government financing secured.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long-term results 11 years after primary gastric bypass in 384 patients.
TL;DR: Surprisingly few patients were compliant with the recommendation of lifelong supplements and yearly evaluations; however, patient satisfaction was high and substantial weight loss was maintained and revisional surgery was rare.
