Journal ArticleDOI

Affective images: relieving chronic pain and enhancing quality of life for older persons.

TL;DR: In this paper, affective images and pictures were used in 15 elderly patients (12 female and three male) in chronic pain who needed to perform stretching and standing exercises in their physiotherapy sessions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of changes in fruit and vegetable intake on plasma antioxidant defenses in humans

TL;DR: The data of Dragsted et al clearly show that none of the measured redox markers were affected by the withdrawal of fruit and vegetables from the control diet, and it is speculated that 25 d was not an adequate time period to impair plasma TAC in healthy subjects.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optimized noninvasive procedures to measure DNA damage in comet assay.

TL;DR: This newly established procedure offers an alternative noninvasive sampling method for the investigation of DNA protection and/or damaging effect and successfully utilized its optimized assay conditions to demonstrate the genoprotective activity of quercetin.
Journal ArticleDOI

Heme oxygenase microsatellite polymorphism, oxidative stress, glycemic control, and complication development in type 2 diabetes patients.

TL;DR: Data do not support the postulated link between HMOX-1 microsatellite polymorphism and type 2 DM or the putative beneficial effect of the S allele on glycemic control, oxidative stress, or outcome in type 2DM patients, at least in this particular population.
