Journal ArticleDOI

An in vitro study of Sanchi (Panax pseudoginseng) for its DNA protective effect

TL;DR: Water extracts of Sanchi at specific concentrations were able to diminish human DNA damage induced by hydrogen peroxide in both standard and lysed cell comet assays, implying cell membrane limited the availability of active ingredients ofSanchi to nucleus.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antioxidant power and DNA repair effects of Lingzhi or Reishi medicinal mushroom, Ganoderma lucidum (W.Curt.:Fr.) P. Karst. (Aphyllophoromycetideae), in human acute post-ingestion study.

TL;DR: Results show that the bioavailable antioxidants absorbed from G. lucidum have no effect on DNA resistance to oxidative stress or repair in vivo and diets rich in plant-based foods are associated with improved health.
