Journal ArticleDOI

Formation of carbidic and graphite carbon from CO on polycrystalline cobalt

TL;DR: In this paper, the Boudouard reaction on cobalt with XPS was studied and the results showed that a limited amount of adsorbed CO undergoes dissociation at a temperature higher than 333 K, which results in a fixed amount of carbidic carbon (θC = 0.4).
Journal ArticleDOI

XPS Characterization of reduced LaCoO3 perovskite

TL;DR: In a series of experiments the oxide, having larger surface area, was stepwise reduced in hydrogen at temperatures between 60 and 500/sup 0/C, and the surface concentration of CoCoO/sub 3/ was very low up to 300/sup 1/g but increased sharply between 300 and 350/sup 2/g (9-75%).
Journal ArticleDOI

Study of methanol electrooxidation on RhSn oxide, PtSn oxide, and IrSn oxide in comparison with that on the Pt metals

TL;DR: In this article, the tin oxide effect on the catalytic activity of different types of oxides was studied with respect to the presence or absence of redox coupling of the respective Pt group metal species.
Journal ArticleDOI

Amorphous Ni-Ti and Ni-Zr alloys for water electrolysis cathode materials.

TL;DR: Amorphous Ni-Ti and Ni-Zr alloys for their possible use in water electrolysis cathode materials were investigated in this paper, where the hydrogen electrode reaction in 1 M NaOH (1 M= 1 mol dm−3) proceeds via the Volmer-Tafel reaction route with mixed rate-determining characteristics.
