Targeted Neonatal Echocardiography in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit: Practice Guidelines and Recommendations for Training Writing group of the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) in collaboration with the European Association of Echocardiography (EAE) and the Association for European Pediatric Cardiologists (AEPC)
Luc Mertens,Istvan Seri,Jan Marek,Romaine Arlettaz,Piers Barker,Patrick J. McNamara,Anita J. Moon-Grady,Patrick D. Coon,Shahab Noori,John M. Simpson,Wyman W. Lai +10 more
TL;DR: The aim of this research was to establish a theory that can be applied to the management of infectious disease in a post-operative setting and to improve the quality of medical treatment for these patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Failure of Ductus Arteriosus Closure Is Associated With Increased Mortality in Preterm Infants
Shahab Noori,Michael McCoy,Philippe Friedlich,Brianna C. Bright,Brianna C. Bright,Venugopal Gottipati,Istvan Seri,Kris C. Sekar +7 more
TL;DR: Failure of ductal closure is associated with an increase in mortality in very preterm infants, and the hazard for death in neonates with a persistent ductus was eightfold higher than in those with a closed ductus.
Journal ArticleDOI
Targeted neonatal echocardiography in the neonatal intensive care unit: practice guidelines and recommendations for training:.
Luc Mertens,Istvan Seri,Jan Marek,Romaine Arlettaz,Piers Barker,Patrick J. McNamara,Anita J. Moon-Grady,Patrick D. Coon,Shahab Noori,John M. Simpson,Wyman W. Lai +10 more
TL;DR: The terms functional echocardiography and point-of-care echOCardiography have been introduced to describe the use of echokardiography as an adjunct in the clinical assessment of the hemodynamic status in neonates.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dopamine causes inhibition of Na+-K+-ATPase activity in rat proximal convoluted tubule segments.
TL;DR: It is concluded that in rat PCT segments, DA causes a rapid and reversible inhibition of apparent Na+-K+-ATPase activity and an apparent reduction in the affinity for K, suggesting the site of action appears to be intracellular.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cardiovascular effects of hydrocortisone in preterm infants with pressor-resistant hypotension.
TL;DR: Preterm infants with volume- and pressor-resistant hypotension respond to hydrocortisone with rapid normalization of the cardiovascular status and sustained decreases in volume andPressor requirement.
