Dissolved and Total Thallium in Great Lakes Waters
TL;DR: In this article, the concentration and distribution of dissolved and total Tl in the waters of three Great Lakes and some point sources were reported, and the median dissolved concentration of Tl were 1.2, 5.7, 9.4, and 25.7 ng/L (6, 27, 45, and 124 × 10−12 M) in Lakes Superior, Ontario, Erie, and Hamilton Harbor, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development of a laser-excited atomic fluorescence spectrometer and a method for the direct determination of lead in Great Lakes waters
TL;DR: In this article, a laser-excited atomic fluorescence spectrometer was used for direct determination of lead in Great Lakes water samples, which is the first time that direct analyses of such samples have been successfully achieved.
Journal ArticleDOI
Direct Determination of Dissolved and Total Thallium in Lake Waters by Laser-Excited Atomic Fluorescence Spectrometry
TL;DR: In this article, an electrothermal laser-excited atomic fluorescence spectrometer has been optimized to detect sub-femtogram of thallium and used to develop a method for direct determination of dissolved and total TH in lake waters, which voids the laborintensive, contamination-prone tasks of filtration, centrifugation and acid digestion of collected particulates.
Journal ArticleDOI
Application of laser-excited atomic fluorescence spectrometer to study lead distribution in great lakes waters
TL;DR: In this paper, the first application of a Laser-Excited Atomic Fluorescence Spectrometer (LEAFS) to study lead distribution in the Great Lakes waters was reported, and a class 100 clean laboratory for in-house work and a portable clean lab for field work were used for all sample handling.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ion selective electrode for determination of chloride ion in biological materials, food products, soils and waste water.
Ivan Sekerka,J. Lechner +1 more
TL;DR: The chloride ion selective electrode is used for a rapid, simple, and reliable determination of chloride ion in biological materials, food products, soils, and waste water.
