Effects of lumbar sympathetic block on kidney function in cirrhotic patients with hepatorenal syndrome.
J.A. Solis-Herruzo,A. Duran,V. Favela,Gregorio Castellano,J.L. Madrid,M. T. Muñoz-Yagüe,Juan Diego Morillas,J. Estenoz +7 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that sympathetic block might improve renal function in cirrhotics with hepatorenal syndrome, particularly those with more impaired GFR.
Journal Article
Caustic sclerosing cholangitis. Report of four cases and a cumulative review of the literature.
Gregorio Castellano,D. Moreno-Sánchez,J. Gutierrez,E Moreno-Gonzalez,Francisco Colina,J.A. Solis-Herruzo +5 more
TL;DR: It is justifiably concluded that surgeons should not inject a scolicidal solution into the hydatid cyst, but prevent intra-abdominal diffusion of the parasite by using hydrogen peroxide, gauze pads moistened by a scolicsidal solution or by preoperative chemotherapy with albendazole.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tumor necrosis factor alpha inhibits collagen alpha 1(I) gene expression in rat hepatic stellate cells through a G protein
Inmaculada Hernández-Muñoz,P. De la Torre,José Antonio Sánchez-Alcázar,Inmaculada Garcı́a,E Santiago,M. T. Muñoz-Yagüe,J.A. Solis-Herruzo +6 more
TL;DR: TNF-alpha-induced inhibition of alpha 1(I) collagen gene expression in a hepatic stellate cell line may be mediated by a pertussis toxin-sensitive G protein, using sphingomyelin/ceramide as an intracellular signal transduction pathway.
Journal ArticleDOI
Collagenous Gastrobulbitis and Collagenous Colitis: Case Report and Review of the Literature
TL;DR: Biopsy specimens showed a thick subepithelial band composed of ultrastructurally normal collagen immunohistochemically negative for collagen IV and laminin, suggesting that this collagen deposition may affect the entire digestive tract with variable intensity, extension, and symptoms.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of intrathoracic pressure on plasma arginine vasopressin levels
J.A. Solis-Herruzo,Diego Moreno,Amelia Gonzalez,Luisa Larrodera,Gregorio Castellano,Joaquin Gutierrez,Adolfo Gozalo +6 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that increased intrathoracic pressure is associated with an increase in plasma arginine vasopressin levels and proposed that ascites could be a factor promoting vasoppressin release by acting on intrath oracic volume receptors in decompensated cirrhotics.
