Journal ArticleDOI

Scalable multiparticle entanglement of trapped ions

TL;DR: The scalable and deterministic generation of four-, five-, six-, seven- and eight-particle entangled states of the W type with trapped ions are reported, which obtain the maximum possible information on these states by performing full characterization via state tomography, using individual control and detection of the ions.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Absolute frequency measurement of 40 Ca + in a Paul trap

TL;DR: In this article, an absolute frequency measurement of a single 40Ca+ ion in a linear Paul trap at the 10-15 level was performed using a Cs-referenced frequency comb to measure the probe laser exciting the 4s2S1/2 to 3d2D5/2 quadrupole transition at 411 THz.
