Journal ArticleDOI
Search for the tetraneutron by the double-charge-exchange of negative pions
J.E. Ungar,R.D. McKeown,D. F. Geesaman,R. J. Holt,J.R. Specht,Kenneth E. Stephenson,B. Zeidman,Christopher Morris +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the momentum spectrum for double-charge exchange of π − on 4 He has been measured at 0° and T π− = 165 MeV, and a 1σ upper limit of 22 nb/sr is set on the cross section for transitions leading to bound tetraneutrons.
Journal ArticleDOI
Isospin Dependence of Pion Absorption on a Pair of Nucleons
D. Ashery,R. J. Holt,H. E. Jackson,J. P. Schiffer,J. R. Specht,Kenneth E. Stephenson,R. D. McKeown,J.E. Ungar,R. E. Segel,P. Zupranski +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the relative cross sections for two-nucleon coincidence measurements of the $2N+\ensuremath{\pi{+}-, $2p$) and the (${
esuremath{-pi}}^{\ensure math{-}}-, $\mathrm{pn}$) reactions were determined where the initial two nucleons are in a relative $s$ state, and coupled either to isospin zero or to one.
