Journal ArticleDOI

Neodymium-iron-boron permanent magnets

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors place Nd-Fe-B in the historical context of permanent magnet evolution, summarize the intrinsic properties of the R 2 Fe 14 B phases, and discuss the properties of practical Nd Fe-B magnets produced by the two methods in present commercial use.
Journal ArticleDOI

Magnetic properties of Nd2(CoxFe1-x)14B alloys

TL;DR: In this paper, an investigation of the magnetic properties of pseudoternary systems is described, and the Curie temperature, saturation moments, and measurements as well as molecular field analyses of the temperature dependence of the magnetizations are reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

On the formation of NdFe9.5−xTx compounds (T = Ti, Cr, Mn)

TL;DR: In this paper, the lattice symmetry and space group of stable, isostructural, ternary compounds having compositions specified by NdFe9.5−xTx were discovered.
Journal ArticleDOI

Crystal and magnetic structure of Ce2Fe14B and Lu2Fe14B

TL;DR: In this paper, Rietveld analyses of neutron powder diffraction data on Ce 2 Fe 14 B and Lu 2Fe 14 B, two phases which form the tetragonal Nd 2 Fe14 B crystal structure were presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Renormalized atoms and the calculation of core electron excitation energies in the rare earths

TL;DR: In this article, a procedure for calculating excitation energies of localized states in rare earth metals is described, where Relativistic Hartree-Fock computations for appropriate atomic configurations are performed initially and crystal potentials are then constructed by means of the renormalized atom method.
