Journal ArticleDOI

Neodymium-iron-boron permanent magnets

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors place Nd-Fe-B in the historical context of permanent magnet evolution, summarize the intrinsic properties of the R 2 Fe 14 B phases, and discuss the properties of practical Nd Fe-B magnets produced by the two methods in present commercial use.
Journal ArticleDOI

Crystallization and magnetic properties of melt-spun neodymium-iron alloys

TL;DR: In this article, the magnetic and crystallization properties of melt-spun Nd 1− x Fe x alloys are reported, using high purity constituents and an extremely fine orifice (100-150 μm).
Journal ArticleDOI

Temperature dependence of the magnetostriction of polycrystalline Y6Fe23, Ho6Fe23 and Er6Fe23

TL;DR: In this paper, the magnetostriction of Y 6 Fe 23, Ho 6 Fe23 and Er 6Fe 23 has been measured between 20-350 K in fields up to 8.0 T. The results were qualitatively described in terms of a noncollinear spin structure.
Journal ArticleDOI

Neodymium-Iron-Boron Permanent Magnets

TL;DR: In this article, the authors place Nd-Fe-B in the historical context of permanent magnet evolution, summarize the intrinsic properties of the R 2 Fe 14 B phases, and discuss the properties of practical Nd Fe-B magnets produced by the two methods in present commercial use.
