Journal ArticleDOI

Qualitative assessment of supplemental amino acid needs for growing lambs fed urea as the sole nitrogen source

TL;DR: Methionine was shown to be the first limiting essential amino acid when non specific amino nitrogen needs were supplied by glutamic acid and may provide an index of amino acid status in the growing lamb.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of feed consumption on plasma amino acid concentrations in lambs.

TL;DR: Increased consumption of a corn-soybean meal diet from maintenance through increments to approximately 2.5 times maintenance increased weight gain, gain :feed, plasma urea-nitrogen, and concentrations of most plasma free-amino acids.
