13C anisotropic chemical shift in organic solids: Benzoic acid and derivatives, benzophenone, and thiobenzophenone

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the 13C resonance of the carbonyl and carboxyl carbons in the compounds listed in the title and determined the complete shielding tensor σ from a single crystal study.
Journal ArticleDOI

13C Anisotropic chemical shift in a single crystal of benzophenone

TL;DR: The 13 C resonance of the carbonyl carbon in a single crystal of benzophenone was studied by Fourier transform NMR at room temperature as discussed by the authors, and the principal elements of σ were found to be: σ xx = −79 ± 4, σ yy = −36 ± 4 and σ zz = +94 ± 4 ppm, relative to CS 2.
Journal ArticleDOI

Proton magnetic shielding in malonic acid by multiple pulse techniques

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the magnetic shielding tensors of all protons in single crystals of malonic acid and found that the most shielded directions lie along the hydrogen bond directions to within 8 degrees.
