Use of substituted 2-(2'-hydroxyaryl)-2h-benzotriazolesulfonates as photostabilising agents for natural and synthetic fibres

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for protecting synthetic and natural fibres against phototendering is proposed, which comprises treating the fibres with a substituted benzotriazolesulfonate of formula (A) wherein (I) R1 is hydrogen or halogen, R2 is hydrogen, R3 is hydrogen/ hydroxy, R4 is -SO3X where X is hydrogen and R5 is hydrogen; with the proviso that R2 not methyl when R1 and R3 are hydrogen; (II) R 1, R 3 and R 4 are
Journal ArticleDOI

The preparation and spectral properties of some monosubstituted 1,3,5,-Triphenyl-2-pyrazolines

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of substituents on these properties and on the fluorescent whitening ability of 1,3,5-triphenyl-2-pyrazolines in general is discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cyclization Reactions in Azole Chemistry: The Reaction of Some Azoles With o-Fluoroacetophenone, o-Fluorobenzaldehyde and o-Fluorobenzophenone

TL;DR: In this paper, the reactions of azoles with o-fluoro-acetophenone, -benzaldehyde and o-benzophenone in the presence of anhydrous potassium carbonate have been investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

The preparation and spectroscopic properties of some di- and tri-substituted 1,3,5-triphenyl-2-pyrazolines and related 2-pyrazolines

TL;DR: The effect of substituents on the absorption and fluorescence properties of a number of di-and tri-para-substituted 1,3,5-triphenyl-2-pyrazolines, several substituted 1, 3, 5, 5-tetraphenyl, and trans-l, 3.4, 5.7-m methano-1H-indazoles in cyclohexane and in methanol has been studied as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

The reduction of some o-nitrophenylazo dyes with glucose: a general synthesis of 2-Aryl-2H-benzotriazole 1-oxides

TL;DR: In this paper, the reduction of representative o-nitrophenylazo dyes in ethanolic alkali with glucose gives the corresponding 2-aryl-2H-benzotriazole 1-oxides in excellent yield.
