Absence of long-range magnetic ordering in the pyrochlore compound Er2Sn2O7

TL;DR: These new measurements on Er2Sn2O7 suggest a new lower bound for the frustration index of f = |Θ(CW)|/T(N) = 14/0.1 = 140, placing this compound into a highly frustrated regime.
Journal ArticleDOI

The origin of persistent spin dynamics and residual entropy in the stuffed spin ice Ho2.3Ti1.7O7−δ

TL;DR: In this article, the crystal growth of stuffed spin ice Ho2.3Ti1.7O7−δ was studied and it was found that even with a large perturbation, the system still has some key signatures of the spin ice state, but the spin dynamics is significantly altered.
Journal ArticleDOI

Magnetic order and crystal field excitations in Er2Ru2O7: a neutron scattering study

TL;DR: The magnetic pyrochlore Er( 2)Ru(2)O(7) has been studied with neutron scattering and susceptibility measurements down to a base temperature of 270 mK and inelastic measurements reveal a wealth of crystal field levels of the Er ion and a copious amount of magnetic scattering below 15 meV.
