Long-term variability of solar magnetic fields

TL;DR: In this paper, a review of the variations of the solar magnetic field is given, with a focus on the study of 600 Myr-old Australiain varve data showing the 22-yr magnetic cycle and variations with 300-400 yr periods.
Journal ArticleDOI

On Deflection of Solar Coronal Mass Ejections by the Ambient Coronal Magnetic Field Configuration

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed 44 halo-CMEs whose deflection angle exceeds 90 degrees and concluded that the deflection of 80% of the CMEs (35 of 44) are consistent with the ambient magnetic field configuration.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

The temporal evolution of the radial component of the heliospheric magnetic field

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used extended time series of photospheric and interplanetary magnetic field data from 1976 to 1994 to confirm their earlier inference that the temporal variation of the radial component of the undisturbed heliospheric magnetic field (HMF) in the ecliptic mainly follows the evolution of the equatorial components of the Sun's dipole field.
