The measurement of regional ventilation in man: a new method of quantitation.
R.H. Secker-Walker,Hill Ri,Joanne Markham,J. Baker,J. Wilhelm,Philip O. Alderson,E. J. Potchen +6 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Ventilation-Perfusion Scanning in Carcinoma of the Bronchus
R.H. Secker-Walker,R.H. Secker-Walker,Philip O. Alderson,J. Wilhelm,Hill Rl,Joanne Markham,J. Kinzie +6 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that ventilation-perfusion studies can: supplement routine spirometry test by giving an estimation of regional lung function, provide an indication of unresectability, occasionally reveal the site of an occult carcinoma of the bronchus.
Journal ArticleDOI
The measurement of regional ventilation during tidal breathing: a comparison of two methods in healthy subjects, and patients with chronic obstructive lung disease
R. H. Seeker-Walker,Philip O. Alderson,J. Wilhelm,Hill Rl,Joanne Markham,J. Baker,E. J. Potchen +6 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that measurement of regional ventilation as the fractional exchange of air is more realistic than methods that determine relative ventilation or only make use of the early part of the wash-out 133-Xe.
Journal ArticleDOI
Regional ventilation-perfusion relationships.
TL;DR: A comparison of these two methods showed comparable distributions of regional ventilation-perfusion relationships in the healthy subjects and patients with pulmonary embolism, however, in the patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, the fractional exchange method clearly separated this group of patients from the others.
