Journal ArticleDOI

Application of physicochemical data for water-quality assessment of watercourses in the Gdansk Municipality (South Baltic coast).

TL;DR: Water-quality evaluation based on an 8-year monitoring programme in the Gdansk Municipality region is presented, revealing that examination of basic physicochemical parameters permits to discriminate initially watercourses with respect to level of water contamination.
Journal ArticleDOI

Upwelling characteristics in the Puck Bay (the Baltic Sea)

TL;DR: In this article, conditions under which upwelling occurred using maps of horizontal currents at different depths, which were obtained from an operational hydrodynamic model, were analyzed in Puck Bay, a semi-closed water body located on the southern coast of the Baltic Sea.
Journal Article

The Vistula river discharge front - surface observations

TL;DR: In this paper, the main directions of surface water trans-port is analyzed and it is shown that advection in the direction perpendicular to the frontal line is weak and that salinity, temperature, density, and nutrient concentration is high.

Assessing catchment-coast interactions for the Bay of Gdansk

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present the assessment framework of the EUROCAT project focussing on the link between scenarios, DPSIR-indicators and potential impacts for the Vistula catchment.
Journal Article

Bioaerosols on Tri-city (Gdańsk-Sopot-Gdynia) beaches.

TL;DR: Correlation analysis showed that a statistically significant relationship exists between the microbial abundance and the wind direction, wind speed, and the sampling site location; and the greatest number of microorganisms was noted in spring and autumn.
