Journal ArticleDOI
Asymmetric sulfoxidation using [(3,3-Dimethoxycamphoryl)sulfonyl]oxaziridine
TL;DR: In this article, a 3,3-dimethoxycamphoryl)sulfonyloxaziridine oxidizes sulfides to sulfoxides cleanly and efficiently in up to 98% ee.
Journal ArticleDOI
A new system for catalytic asymmetric oxidation of sulfides using a hydrogen peroxide based reagent
TL;DR: In this article, the authors achieved catalytic asymmetric oxidation of sulfides in a remarkably simple process by treatment with hydrogen peroxide and an enantiomerically pure sulfonylimine under basic conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Asymmetric Sulfur Oxidation Mediated by Camphorsulfonylimines
TL;DR: In this article, a catalytic enantioselective oxidation of a range of sulfides is achieved by treatment with hydrogen peroxide in conjunction with enantiomerically pure sulfonylimines under basic conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reactivity and selectivity in the oxidation of aryl methyl sulfides and sulfoxides by hydrogen peroxide mediated by acetonitrile
Donald Bethell,Andrew E. Graham,Jag P. Heer,Olga Markopoulou,Philip C. Bulman Page,B. Kevin Park +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the active oxidant in the conversion of p-substituted-phenyl methyl sulfides into the sulfoxides is selective (ρ = −1.0 at 0 °C) but the oxidation of the related sulfoxide compounds at 0 and 24 °C shows low selectivity.
