Journal ArticleDOI
Contribution of Lumbar Spine Pathology and Age to Paraspinal Muscle Size and Fatty Infiltration
Bahar Shahidi,Callan L. Parra,David B. Berry,James C. Hubbard,Sara P. Gombatto,Vinko Zlomislic,R. Todd Allen,Jan M. Hughes-Austin,Steven R. Garfin,Samuel R. Ward +9 more
TL;DR: Lumbar muscle fat content, but not CSA, changes with age in individuals with pathology, and in women, this increase is more profound than age-related increases in healthy individuals.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lumbar multifidus muscle degenerates in individuals with chronic degenerative lumbar spine pathology.
Bahar Shahidi,James C. Hubbard,Michael C. Gibbons,Severin Ruoss,Vinko Zlomislic,Richard Todd Allen,Steven R. Garfin,Samuel R. Ward +7 more
TL;DR: High levels of muscle degeneration, inflammation, and decreased vascularity were commonly seen in human multifidus biopsies of individuals with lumbar spine pathology in comparison to normative data, suggesting that changes in muscle tissue are more complex than simple atrophy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Revision of Recalled Modular Neck Rejuvenate and ABG Femoral Implants.
TL;DR: It is concluded that revision of modular neck femoral stems is associated with increased preoperative metal ion levels and stem-neck corrosion, leading to increased morbidity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Missed Pediatric Monteggia Fractures.
James C. Hubbard,Aakash Chauhan,Ryan H Fitzgerald,Reid A. Abrams,Scott J. Mubarak,Mark J. Sangimino +5 more
TL;DR: Ulnar osteotomy and correction of the ulnar deformity component of the missed Monteggia injury are the key to indirect anatomic reduction of the radiocapitellar joint.
Journal ArticleDOI
MRI Findings Associated with Recalled Modular Femoral Neck Rejuvenate and ABG Implants
TL;DR: Abnormal MARS-MRI findings are associated with modular neck femoral components and can suggest underlying ALTR in patients with recalled femoral stems with modular necks.
