The effect of road traffic on a breeding community of woodland birds

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of road traffic on a breeding community of woodland birds was studied using the point method at 54 observation points located at three various distances (60, 310, 560 m) from the road.
Journal ArticleDOI

The influence of road traffic on birds during autumn period: Implications for planning and management of road network

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of road noise on birds during the autumn migration period was evaluated using the point method at 36 observation points located at three distances (60m, 310m, 560m) from the road.
Journal ArticleDOI

Do Birds Avoid Railroads as Has Been Found for Roads

TL;DR: The environmental conditions created by the edge effect meant that the birds preferred the neighborhood of the tracks: the more diverse habitats near the tracks supplied attractive nesting and foraging niches for many species of birds.
Journal ArticleDOI

Water on the Fen Mire as a Problemin the Protection of Globally ThreatenedSpecies: Long-Term Changesin Aquatic Warbler Numbers

Journal ArticleDOI

Does Traffic Noise Affect the Distribution and Abundance of Wintering Birds in a Managed Woodland

TL;DR: This case study indicates that, in contrast to the results obtained during the breeding season and the autumn migration in the same study plot, road and traffic noise has no effect on the number of birds in the vicinity of a road during December, however in the next months, in January and February bird abundance and number of species was lower near the road, similar as during breeding and autumn migration periods.
