Journal Article

A comparison of cDNA, oligonucleotide, and Affymetrix GeneChip gene expression microarray platforms.

TL;DR: The Affymetrix platform showed the greatest range in the magnitude of expression levels followed by the oligonucleotide arrays, and despite their apparently high precision, cDNA arrays showed poor concordance with other platforms.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparative and functional genomics of Rhodococcus opacus PD630 for biofuels development.

TL;DR: In this paper, a comparative analysis of the 9.27 Mb R. opacus PD630 genome was performed and the results of the catabolic screen, phylogenetic analysis of TAGs cycle enzymes, and metabolic product characterizations were integrated into a working model of prokaryotic oleaginy.
Journal ArticleDOI

The genome sequence of the wine yeast VIN7 reveals an allotriploid hybrid genome with Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Saccharomyces kudriavzevii origins

TL;DR: The genome sequence of the thiol-releasing commercial wine yeast hybrid VIN7 is described, which is shown to be an almost complete allotriploid interspecific hybrid that is comprised of a heterozygous diploid complement of S. cerevisiae chromosomes and a haploid Saccharomyces kudriavzevii genomic contribution.
Journal ArticleDOI

Distribution of Nitrogen-Fixing Microorganisms along the Neuse River Estuary, North Carolina.

TL;DR: Results indicate that substantially different nitrogen-fixing assemblages are present along the river, reflecting differential watershed hydrological inputs, sedimentation, and environmental selection pressures, along the salinity gradient.
Journal ArticleDOI

Transcriptional profile of mouse pre-granulosa and Sertoli cells isolated from early-differentiated fetal gonads

TL;DR: Analysis of Mouse Genome 430v2.0 GeneChip revealed that XX and XY E13 SSCs differentially express 647 transcripts, including transcripts not previously reported to exhibit a sexually dimorphic expression pattern in this unique cell population, which are potential GSD genes involved in unexplained human sex reversal cases.
