Modeling of material removal rate and surface roughness in finishing of bevel gears by electrochemical honing process
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe mathematical modeling of material removal rate and surface roughness of the bevel gears finished by the electrochemical honing (ECH) process and propose a method for computing the surface area, required by these two models, along the inter-electrode gap (IEG) based on the geometry of the straight bevel gear tooth surfaces.
Journal ArticleDOI
Precision Finishing of Bevel Gears by Electrochemical Honing
TL;DR: In this article, an innovative setup has been designed and developed for ECH of bevel gears using a novel concept of twin complementary cathode gears to ensure finishing of the entire face width of the workpiece gear and the inter-electrode gap required for the ECM action to take place.
Journal ArticleDOI
Investigations on surface quality improvement of straight bevel gears by electrochemical honing process
TL;DR: In this article, a hybrid finishing process combining advantages and simultaneously overcoming the individual limitations of electrochemical machining and mechanical honing is described, which is referred to as electrochemical homogenization.
Journal ArticleDOI
Droplet Impact Dynamics over a Range of Capillary Numbers and Surface Wettability: Assessment of Moving Contact Line Models and Energy Budget Analysis
TL;DR: In this paper , two established contact angle models, namely, Kistler and Fukai model, are implemented in a dual-grid level-set method based solver to simulate the impact dynamics of a droplet on a solid surface, and the coupled effects of liquid surface tension, liquid viscosity, substrate wettability and impact velocity during droplet bouncing and non-bouncing are presented through an energy budget analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of finishing time and electrolyte composition on geometric accuracy and surface finish of straight bevel gears in ECH process
TL;DR: In this paper, an experimental setup was developed for fine finishing of straight bevel gears by electrochemical honing (ECH) using an innovative concept of twin complementary cathode gears.
