Impact of weathering on the chemical identification of microplastics from usual packaging polymers in the marine environment
V. Fernández-González,Javier Andrade-Garda,Purificación López-Mahía,Soledad Muniategui-Lorenzo +3 more
TL;DR: Five of the most common polymers employed worldwide for packaging were weathered in a pilot-scale system simulating dry and marine conditions for more than 10 weeks, and showed that an individual study of each polymer is necessary since degradation pathways and products depend on the polymer type.
Journal ArticleDOI
Classification of radiologically isolated syndrome and clinically isolated syndrome with machine-learning techniques.
Virginia Mato-Abad,Andrés Labiano-Fontcuberta,Santiago Rodríguez-Yáñez,Rafael García-Vázquez,Cristian R. Munteanu,Javier Andrade-Garda,Ángela Domingo-Santos,V Galán Sánchez-Seco,Yolanda Aladro,M L Martínez-Ginés,Lucía Ayuso,Julián Benito-León +11 more
TL;DR: The objective was to use machine‐learning classification methods to identify morphometric measures that help to discriminate patients with RIS from those with CIS and to improve detection of the subclinical form without interfering with MRI.

Journal ArticleDOI
A metrology-based approach for measuring the social dimension of cognitive trust in collaborative networks
Javier Andrade-Garda,Aurea Anguera,Juan Ares-Casal,Rafael García-Vázquez,Juan-Alfonso Lara,David Lizcano,Santiago Rodríguez-Yáñez,Sonia Suárez-Garaboa +7 more
TL;DR: An innovative metrology-based approach for the measurement of social cognitive trust indicators in collaborative networks is presented, which takes into account the sample size, and the standard deviation of the sample.
Journal ArticleDOI
Using Artificial Neural Networks for Identifying Patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment Associated with Depression Using Neuropsychological Test Features
Virginia Mato-Abad,Isabel Jiménez,Rafael García-Vázquez,José Manuel Aldrey,Daniel Rivero,Purificación Cacabelos,Javier Andrade-Garda,Juan Manuel Pías-Peleteiro,Santiago Rodríguez-Yáñez +8 more
TL;DR: The ability of artificial neural networks (ANNs) to identify an MCI subtype associated with depression as an entity by using the scores of an extensive neurological examination is explored, providing data in favor of a cognitive frontal profile of patients with LLD, distinct and distinguishable from other cognitive impairments.
