Transition from Diagenesis to Metamorphism Near the Front of the Variscan Regional Metamorphism (Cantabrian Zone, Northwestern Spain)
Covadonga Brime,Susana García-López,Fernando Bastida,M. Luz Valín,Javier Sanz-López,Jesús Aller +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the distribution of paleotemperatures has been studied in Paleozoic rocks of the Variscan fold and thrust belt of the NW Cantabrian Zone (Spain) by a combined application of illite crystallinity (IC) and conodont color alteration index (CAI).
Journal ArticleDOI
Foraminiferal biostratigraphy across the visean/serpukhovian boundary in the vegas de sotres section (cantabrian mountains, spain)
TL;DR: In this article, a continuous succession of the upper part of the Alba Formation is recorded in the Vegas de Sotres section in the Cantabrian Mountains, northern Spain.
Journal ArticleDOI
Late Viséan-Serpukhovian lasiodiscid foraminifers in Vegas de Sotres section (Cantabrian Mountains, NW Spain): Potential biostratigraphic markers for the Viséan-Serpukhovian boundary ☆
TL;DR: The Lasiodiscid foraminifers of the Alba Formation in the Cantabrian Mountains of Northern Spain were identified in this paper, with 26 species assigned to 5 genera: Howchinia, acutiformis, cantabrica, Hemidiscopsis, hemisphaerica, plana, sotrensis and variabilis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Carboniferous conodont biostratigraphy
James E. Barrick,Alexander S. Alekseev,Alexander S. Alekseev,Silvia Blanco-Ferrera,N. V. Goreva,Keyi Hu,Keyi Hu,Lance L. Lambert,Tamara I. Nemyrovska,Yuping Qi,Scott M. Ritter,Javier Sanz-López +11 more
TL;DR: Carboniferous conodont biostratigraphy comprises regional zonations that reflect the palaeogeographical distribution of taxa and distinct shallow-water and deep-water biofacies as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Geothermal palaeogradients and metamorphic zonation from the conodont colour alteration index (CAI)
TL;DR: The conodont colour alteration index (CAl) is potentially does not exist, there are areas where CAl and KI values are valuable in thermal history investigations, but there are notably consistent for the anchizone boundaries as mentioned in this paper.
