Effects of Secret in and Cholecystokinin-Pancreozymin on Pancreatic Juice and Insulin Secretion of Goats

TL;DR: Goats injected intravenously with as much as 3.75 clinical Units of secretin per kilogram body weight did not show an increased serum immunoreactive insulin level, and only cholecystokinin-pancreozymin causes insulin secretion in goats.
Journal ArticleDOI

Relation of metabolic events to gastric contractions in the rat.

TL;DR: It was found that changes in carbohydrate utilization induced by glucagon preceded the gastric phenomena, which inhibited gastric hunger contractions in fasted rats.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fat metabolism in experimental obesities. IX. Lipogenesis and cholesterogenesis in yellow obese mice

TL;DR: Yellow mice fed ad libitum exhibit a greater rate of lipogenesis and cholesterogenesis than their controls and females show a fatty acid content in the liver and in extrahepatic tissues which is twice as high as the males.
Journal ArticleDOI

Induction of Hypothalamic Aphagia and Adipsia in Goats

TL;DR: The results of this experiment suggest that the central nervous system has a similar function in the control of feed intake in both ruminants and monogastric animals in spite of the fact that there are probably differences in the feedbacks and receptors making energy balance possible in the two types of animals.
