High-performance finite-element simulations of seismic wave propagation in three-dimensional nonlinear inelastic geological media
TL;DR: The feasibility of large-scale modeling based on an implicit numerical scheme and a nonlinear constitutive model for soil nonlinearity is demonstrated and an application to regional scale modeling in the French Riviera is illustrated.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Exploiting Intensive Multithreading for the Efficient Simulation of 3D Seismic Wave Propagation
TL;DR: This work introduces a mixed-hybrid parallel implementation based on a classical cartesian partitioning at the MPI level and a self-scheduling algorithm at the thread level to handle more than 700 threads on 8 processors and demonstrates the efficiency on an example of regional modeling performed on 80 processors.
Journal ArticleDOI
SCILAB to SCILAB // : the Ouragan project
Eddy Caron,Serge Chaumette,Sylvain Contassot-Vivier,F. Desprez,E. Fleury,Claude Gomez,Maurice Goursat,Martin Quinson,Emmanuel Jeannot,Dominique Lazure,Frédéric Lombard,Jean-Marc Nicod,Laurent Philippe,Pierre Ramet,Jean Roman,F. Rubi,Serge Steer,Frédéric Suter,Gil Utard +18 more
TL;DR: This paper presents the developments realized in the Ouragan project around the parallelization of a Matlab-like tool called Scilab, which allows users to perform high-level operations on distributed matrices in a metacomputing environment.
Book ChapterDOI
On using an hybrid MPI-Thread programming for the implementation of a parallel sparse direct solver on a network of SMP nodes
TL;DR: This paper proposes an hybrid MPI-thread implementation of a parallel direct solver and analyses the benefits of this approach in terms of memory and run-time performances.
