TL;DR: A method of querying one or more Web-based data sources, including receiving a query statement including at least one query, parsing the input query to identify a target data source for each query, and dispatching each query to a respective one of the data sources for a target source search is described in this paper.
Abstract: A method (and structure) of querying one or more Web-based data sources, includes receiving a query statement including at least one query, parsing the input query to identify a target data source for each query, and dispatching each query to a respective one of the data sources for a target data source search.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a system and method for providing specified electronic commerce services to users, in particular e-Logistics services, services which are available in the marketplace from a variety of service providers whose electronic commerce systems are incompatible.
Abstract: A system and method for providing specified electronic commerce services to users, in particular e-Logistics services, services which are available in the marketplace from a variety of service providers whose electronic commerce systems are incompatible. There is provided a user/customer interface to the specified electronic commerce services, called a Common Alliance Interface, and a distinct interface for service providers of the specified electronic commerce services. Between the two interfaces is a business process layer which integrates one or more components of the specified electronic commerce services, these integrated components thereby being transparent to users. The service provider obtains access to users of the Common Alliance Interface by updating entries in a UDDI registry. There is further provided a service template which the service provider can modify to provide an adaptation layer between their legacy application and the business process layer. There is disclosed a business process layer of e-Logistics services comprised of RFQ, shipping and tracking processes.

TL;DR: A SOAP-oriented component-based framework to support device-independent multimedia Web services, which seamlessly incorporates cutting-edge technologies relating to Web services: SOAP, XML/XSL, and CC/PP.
Abstract: A Web service is a programmable Web application accessible using standard Internet protocols. A three-layer architecture has been suggested for Web services: service providers, service brokers, and service requesters. We propose a SOAP-oriented component-based framework to support device-independent multimedia Web services. Two intelligent agents are introduced and embedded into a proxy server and service provider server, respectively. Separating metadata from multimedia content leads to enhance SOAP flexibility. Composite capability/preference profile-based user profile management provides an easy and flexible way to split and adapt multimedia services to appropriate composite devices as well as increasing the flexibility for users to manage multiple devices. Together with an XML/XSL strategy, we ensure device independency of the system. By utilizing local caches, our agents enable the caching and streaming of multimedia transportation. In addition, our framework seamlessly incorporates cutting-edge technologies relating to Web services: SOAP, XML/XSL, and CC/PP.

TL;DR: The main objective in this paper is to introduce a versatile application platform for building private trading exchanges that supports the management and execution of multienterprise business processes and collaborations in the context of these processes.
Abstract: The private trading exchange (PTX) is emerging as the cornerstone of business-to-business e-commerce. At its core, a private trading exchange involves interenterprise integration and collaboration. Our main objective in this paper is to introduce a versatile application platform for building private trading exchanges. This platform supports the management and execution of multienterprise business processes and collaborations in the context of these processes. We review the business requirements of PTX-based systems and the technical challenges in developing such systems. We then examine and categorize the main interaction patterns between the private trading exchange and its participants. These patterns lead to the design of a component framework for process brokering and content aggregation. This framework is the foundation of our application platform for building PTX solutions. We describe the platform and discuss how to use it to implement a PTX solution.

TL;DR: This paper proposes a service-oriented framework that takes Web services to the next level in supporting dynamic e-business by providing business utility services and automation technology founded on Web services.
Abstract: While Web services provide an essential building block for realizing dynamic e-business by facilitating standardsbased program-to-program interaction, they do not address many business aspects of communication such as security, access control, business partner selection, service level agreement monitoring, and logging. In this paper, we propose a service-oriented framework that provides these much needed infrastructure services. Using the framework, service providers can prepare their business applications for publishing as Web services, and specify access controls on their services in the registry while service requestors can find suitable service providers and invoke their services dynamically. The framework ensures that all transactions are secure, monitored for service level agreements and logged for audit purposes. By providing business utility services and automation technology founded on Web services, we believe that, our framework takes Web services to the next level in supporting dynamic e-business.

TL;DR: This work proposes a multi-level interactive content preview mechanism, agent-based information exchange mechanism and E-commerce enablement technology powered by an Interactive Content Creation Engine (ICCE).
Abstract: We present an advanced architecture for selectively inserting interactive content into a live TV broadcast anti tracking the usage of the inserted content by client viewers. Specifically, we propose a multi-level interactive content preview mechanism, agent-based information exchange mechanism and E-commerce enablement technology powered by an Interactive Content Creation Engine (ICCE). Also, we introduce two types of mapping lists for scheduling and for an intelligent decision maker based oil the transaction monitoring and multi-level content preview. We propose that the improved live interactive content insertion method and system will be especially useful for building interactive TV e-commerce solutions.

TL;DR: A working system of the proposed manageable Web services hub framework, Managed e-Hub, which provides an infrastructure for enabling next generation e-utilities in a secure and controlled environment is presented.
Abstract: In this paper, a manageable Web services hub framework and enabling technologies for e-sourcing are proposed for buyers, suppliers, service providers and trading partners to register business, user and service information as well as to provision and subscribe to services The proposed framework enables a business to dynamically configure its business processes to integrate with existing Web services provided by other enterprises based on service requirements Next, a multi-level security mechanism ensuring secure communications in a hub or among hubs is presented An advanced Web services discovery mechanism is introduced after that for looking up multiple UDDI registries and aggregating results in an efficient manner A working system of this framework, Managed e-Hub, which provides an infrastructure for enabling next generation e-utilities in a secure and controlled environment, is also presented in this paper Some further research ideas are given at the end of the paper
