Roger D. Weiss,Jennifer Sharpe Potter,David A. Fiellin,David A. Fiellin,Marilyn Byrne,Marilyn Byrne,Hilary S. Connery,Hilary S. Connery,William Dickinson,John G. Gardin,John G. Gardin,Margaret L. Griffin,Margaret L. Griffin,Marc N. Gourevitch,Deborah L. Haller,Deborah L. Haller,Albert Hasson,Zhen Huang,Petra Jacobs,Andrzej S. Kosinski,Robert Lindblad,Elinore F. McCance-Katz,Elinore F. McCance-Katz,Scott E. Provost,Scott E. Provost,Jeffrey Selzer,Jeffrey Selzer,Eugene Somoza,Eugene Somoza,Susan C. Sonne,Walter Ling +30 more
TL;DR: Prescription opioid-dependent patients are most likely to reduce opioid use during buprenorphine-naloxone treatment; if tapered off bupreliminary treatment, even after 12 weeks of treatment, the likelihood of an unsuccessful outcome is high, even in patients receiving counseling in addition to SMM.
Journal ArticleDOI
Extended vs Short-term Buprenorphine-Naloxone for Treatment of Opioid-Addicted Youth: A Randomized Trial
George E. Woody,Sabrina Poole,Geetha Subramaniam,Karen L. Dugosh,Michael P. Bogenschutz,Patrick J. Abbott,Ashwin A. Patkar,Mark Publicker,Karen McCain,Jennifer Sharpe Potter,Robert F. Forman,Victoria L. Vetter,Laura McNicholas,Jack Blaine,Kevin G. Lynch,Paul J. Fudala +15 more
TL;DR: Continuing treatment with buprenorphine-naloxone improved outcome compared with short-term detoxification, and extended medication-assisted therapy may be more helpful for young individuals with opioid dependence.
Journal ArticleDOI
Alterations in brain structure and functional connectivity in prescription opioid-dependent patients
Jaymin Upadhyay,Nasim Maleki,Jennifer Sharpe Potter,Jennifer Sharpe Potter,Igor Elman,David Rudrauf,Jaime Knudsen,Diana Wallin,Gautam Pendse,Leah J. McDonald,Margaret L. Griffin,Julie Anderson,Lauren Nutile,Perry F. Renshaw,Roger D. Weiss,Lino Becerra,David Borsook +16 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that prescription opioid dependence is associated with structural and functional changes in brain regions implicated in the regulation of affect and impulse control, as well as in reward and motivational functions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gender differences in a clinical trial for prescription opioid dependence
R. Kathryn McHugh,R. Kathryn McHugh,Elise E. DeVito,Dorian R. Dodd,Kathleen M. Carroll,Jennifer Sharpe Potter,Shelly F. Greenfield,Shelly F. Greenfield,Hilary S. Connery,Hilary S. Connery,Roger D. Weiss,Roger D. Weiss +11 more
TL;DR: Despite the presence of pre-treatment gender differences in this population, once the study treatment was initiated, women and men exhibited similar opioid use outcomes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Social cognitive correlates of sexual experience and condom use among 13- through 15-year-old adolescents
Colleen DiIorio,William N. Dudley,Maureen Kelly,Johanna E. Soet,Joyce Mbwara,Jennifer Sharpe Potter +5 more
TL;DR: Among sexually active adolescents, those who expressed confidence in putting on a condom, and in being able to refuse sex with a sexual partner, and who expressed more favorable outcome expectancies associated with using a condom were more likely to use condoms consistently.
