Journal ArticleDOI

In-vitro and in-vivo anti-inflammatory effect of oxyresveratrol from Morus alba L.

TL;DR: The results suggest that the anti‐inflammatory properties of oxyresveratrol might be correlated with inhibition of the iNOS expression through down‐regulation of NF‐kB binding activity and significant inhibition of COX‐2 activity.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Flavonoid Naringenin Inhibits Dimethylnitrosamine-Induced Liver Damage in Rats

TL;DR: It is suggested that naringenin may be useful in preventing the development of hepatic fibrosis through in vivo hepatoprotective and anti-fibrogenic effects against DMN-induced liver injury.
Journal ArticleDOI

The flavonoid quercetin inhibits dimethylnitrosamine‐induced liver damage in rats

TL;DR: It is suggested that quercetin may be useful in the preventing the development of hepatic fibrosis and in the in‐vivo hepatoprotective and anti‐fibrogenic effects against DMN‐induced liver injury.
Journal ArticleDOI

Aspirin induces apoptosis in vitro and inhibits tumor growth of human hepatocellular carcinoma cells in a nude mouse xenograft model

TL;DR: Treatment with aspirin inhibited cell growth and induced apoptosis involving both extrinsic and intrinsic pathways as measured by DNA ladder formation, alteration in the Bax/Bcl-2 ratio, activation of the caspase activities and related protein expressions, suggesting that aspirin may be used as a promising anticancer agent against liver cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI

Resveratrol Inhibits Dimethylnitrosamine-Induced Hepatic Fibrosis in Rats

TL;DR: Oral administration of resveratrol remarkably prevented the DMN-induced loss in body and liver weight, and inhibited the elevation of serum alanine transaminases, aspartate transaminase, alkaline phosphatase and bilirubin levels, suggesting that resver atrol may be useful in the prevention of the development of hepatic fibrosis.
