Past ocean temperatures and coupled U/Th and ^(14)C measurements from deep-sea corals
TL;DR: Deep-sea corals are a unique archive in paleoceanography as discussed by the authors, they have large banded skeletons that allow for highresolution records and have a high uranium content allowing for accurate calendar ages independent of radiocarbon age measurements.

Uranium distribution and incorporation mechanism in deep-sea corals : implications for seawater [CO32–] proxies
TL;DR: In this article, the authors explore the mechanism of uranium incorporation in coral skeletons with the deep-sea species Desmophyllum dianthus, an ideal test organism for the biomineralization processes due to its relatively constant growth environment.
