Measurement and Modeling of Narrowband Channels for Ultrasonic Underwater Communications.
F.J. Canete,Jesus Lopez-Fernandez,Celia Garcia-Corrales,Antonio J. Sánchez,Encarnación Robles,Francisco J. Rodrigo,Jose F. Paris +6 more
TL;DR: A campaign of measurements of ultrasonic underwater acoustic channels in Mediterranean shallow waters is conducted to determine the parameters of the so-called κ-μ shadowed distribution, a fading model with a direct connection to the underlying physical mechanisms that is used to evaluate the capacity of the measured channels with a closed-form expression.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analysis of Adaptive MIMO Transmit Beamforming Under Channel Prediction Errors Based on Incomplete Lipschitz–Hankel Integrals
TL;DR: A novel exact closed-form expression for the average bit error rate (BER) of adaptive modulation under MIMO transmit beamforming with maximal ratio combining, assuming prediction errors at the receiver for the adaptation CSI required by the transmitter, is obtained.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bivariate Rician Shadowed Fading Model
TL;DR: In this paper, a bivariate Rician shadowed fading model is presented, where the shadowing is assumed to follow a Nakagami-$m$ distribution and exact expressions involving a single integral for both the joint probability density function (PDF) and the joint cumulative distribution function and also derive an exact closed-form expression for the moment generating function.
Journal ArticleDOI
Optimized interpolator filters for timing error correction in DMT systems for xDSL applications
Eduardo Martos-Naya,Jesus Lopez-Fernandez,L.D. del Rio,Mari Carmen Aguayo-Torres,José Tomás Entrambasaguas Muñoz +4 more
TL;DR: From this study, the design of the optimal interpolator filter in terms of SDR, based on a multirate approach with Kaiser window, is presented and results are excellent, yielding SDR values above 50 dB for all carriers while keeping the computational cost low.
Journal ArticleDOI
Joint Parameter Estimation for the Two-Wave with Diffuse Power Fading Model
Jesus Lopez-Fernandez,Laureano Moreno-Pozas,Francisco Javier Lopez-Martinez,Eduardo Martos-Naya +3 more
TL;DR: This paper addresses the joint estimation of the parameters K and Δ that characterize the TWDP fading model, based on the observation of the received signal envelope, using a moment-based approach and results show that the estimation error is close to the Cramer-Rao lower bound.
