The application of positron annihilation spectroscopy to the study of defects in materials is illustrated through several examples drawn from our work. These include the study of vacancy clustering in metals, clustering of He atoms to form bubbles, and solute clustering in alloys. Results of studies on novel materials such as quasicrystals, cuprate superconductors and fullerenes are also presented.

Positron annihilation spectroscopy in materials science

A method is described for removing trace metals (Fe, Co, Ni, Cu) from ZrOCl2 aqueous solution by simultaneous solvent extraction. The system involving methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK) as solvent, and ammonium pyrrolidine dithiocarbonate or diethyldithiocarbonate as chelating agent has been researched. The effect of matrix concentration and extraction pH are discussed. The trace metals in a purified ZrOCl2 sample were determined by GFAAS and the results indicate that the Fe content is below 10 ppb, while Co, Ni and Cu contents are each below 5 ppb.

With the recent years, the rise of cottage, as a projection of the different forces, takes advantage of the current main market of electronic products in China with the characteristics of strong imitation, rapid production and civilian population, moreover,it shows a low-input high return phenomenon.Cottage that mainly actives in the Guangdong area has the trend to expand inland, it does not have their own brand, and mainly imitates the well-known brands of electronic products to thrive.It stimulus the design from the negative aspect,and wants to reverse the design of stagnation with distorted position.Its' rise means that China is undergoing a qualitative change in the design and further affecting the development of the design industry,which would lead the design into a new industry.
