Inorganic perovskites exhibit many important physical properties such as ferroelectricity, magnetoresistance and superconductivity as well their importance as energy materials. Many of the most important energy materials are inorganic perovskites and find application in batteries, fuel cells, photocatalysts, catalysis, thermoelectrics and solar thermal. In all these applications, perovskite oxides, or their derivatives offer highly competitive performance, often state of the art and so tend to dominate research into energy material. In the following sections, we review these functionalities in turn seeking to facilitate the interchange of ideas between domains. The potential for improvement is explored and we highlight the importance of both detailed modelling and in situ and operando studies in taking these materials forward.

Roadmap on inorganic perovskites for energy applications

Bismuth tungstate/neodymium-doped ceria composite electrolyte for intermediate-temperature solid oxide fuel cell: Sintering aid and composite effect

Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) are efficient electrochemical devices that allow for the direct conversion of fuels (their chemical energy) into electricity. Although conventional SOFCs based on YSZ electrolytes are widely used from laboratory to commercial scales, the development of alternative ion-conducting electrolytes is of great importance for improving SOFC performance at reduced operation temperatures. The review summarizes the basic information on two representative families of oxygen-conducting electrolytes: doped lanthanum aluminates (LaAlO3) and lanthanum gallates (LaGaO3). Their preparation features, chemical stability, thermal behaviour and transport properties are thoroughly analyzed in terms of their connection with the target functional parameters of related SOFCs. The data presented here will serve as a starting point for further studies of La-based perovskites, including in the fields of solid state ionics, electrochemistry and applied energy.

Impact of technological innovation on carbon emissions in China's logistics industry: Based on the rebound effect

For a greener society, good corporate environmental information disclosure is crucial. This study empirically examines the influence of media attention and state-owned equity, and their interaction on corporate environmental information disclosure by A-share heavily polluting firms in the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock markets from 2015 to 2019. The results show that state-owned equity can improve the level of corporate environmental information disclosure; however, it mainly affects financial environmental information disclosure. Media attention also improves the level of corporate environmental information disclosure, but only for non-financial environmental information. Moreover, media attention and state-owned equity have a certain substitution effect on environmental information disclosure: a higher state-owned equity ratio weakens the positive effect of media attention on environmental information disclosure. To improve environmental information disclosure, the government must clarify disclosure standards to improve the comparability of environmental information. In addition, media and shareholders can fully leverage their external and internal supervisory roles to promote the environmental responsibilities of firms. Our findings can be useful for further promoting corporate environmental information disclosure and developing relevant policies.
