TL;DR: In this paper, a modified separated bias estimation method for failure detection and estilation is proposed by combining the separated-bias estimation method and the statistical decision principle, which is very simple and the prior knowledge about failures is not necessary.

TL;DR: In this paper, the block relative gain and condition number of a given class of plants were investigated and it was shown that the condition number must be large if the corresponding block-relative gain has a large maximum singular value.
Abstract: New relations between the block relative gain and condition number are developed that complement previously available results. It is shown that the condition number must be large if the corresponding block relative gain has a large maximum singular value, and the minimal condition number must be large if the block relative gain has a large structured singular value. These results are useful in clarifying the role of block relative gain as a measure of potential design difficulties associated with a certain class of plants. >

TL;DR: An analysis method is developed to analyze robustness problems associated with multiple sources of modelling error and an important set of parameters are used to derive bounds upon the structured singular value and shown to capture the essentials of such problems.
Abstract: An analysis method is developed to analyze robustness problems associated with multiple sources of modelling error. An important set of parameters are used to derive bounds upon the structured singular value and shown to capture the essentials of such problems. These parameters and our methodology are illustrated by analyzing a benchmark robust performance problem which yields useful insights in design.
