Journal ArticleDOI
Paired electro-oxidation. I. Production of benzaldehyde
TL;DR: In this article, the selectivity of benzaldehyde was very high in both the anodic and cathodic reactions, and the maximum total current efficiency for benzaldehyde production in the paired electrooxidation was 171%.
Journal ArticleDOI
Catalytic effects of the silver ion on the indirect electrochemical oxidation of toluene to benzaldehyde using Ce3+/Ce4+ as mediator
Jiin-Jiang Jow,Tse-Chuan Chou +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the catalytic effects of the silver ion on toluene oxidation by Ce4+ as well as the anodic generation of C4+ were investigated, and it was shown that about 3×10−3M of Ag+ was needed to obtain maximum current efficiency.
Journal ArticleDOI
Adsorption and electrokinetics of glucose reduction
TL;DR: In this article, the kinetics of cathodic reduction of glucose were studied by a rotating disk electrode at rotation speeds from 500 to 6000 rpm and zero to 2.0 M concentration of glucose.
Journal ArticleDOI
Product distributions and kinetics of cathodic reduction of vanillin in aqueous solution
Jiin-Jiang Jow,Tse-Chuan Chou +1 more
TL;DR: The cathodic reduction of vanillin in aqueous solution on mercury electrode was studied in this article, where the main products in strongly basic and neutral solutions were hydravanilloin and vanillyl alcohol, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI
The roles of redox mediators in the anodic oxidation of glucose
TL;DR: In this paper, the interfacial mass transfer of mediators of anodic oxidation of glucose using bromide ion and hypobromite ion as the redox mediator was studied.
