Influences of sandstone superimposed structure and architecture on waterflooding mechanisms: A case study of Kumkol Oilfield in South Turgay Basin, Kazakhstan
TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed the influence of the superimposed structure characteristics between different types of sandstones and internal architecture features on warterflooding mechanisms and effects in the Kumkol oilfield.
Journal ArticleDOI
Relationship between sandstone architecture and remaining oil distribution pattern: A case of the Kumkol South oilfield in South Turgay Basin, Kazakstan
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors summarized the controlling pattern of different types of sandstone architecture on remaining oil distribution through examining architecture characteristics, development effect and remaining oil distributions characteristics of meandering river sandstone, braided river sand, and delta sandstone.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of meandering river sandstone architecture on waterflooding mechanisms: a case study of the M-I layer in the Kumkol Oilfield, Kazakhstan
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explored the influence of sandstone architecture on waterflooding mechanisms using the architecture method, and taking as an example the M-I layer of the Kumkol oilfield in the South Turgay Basin, Kazakhstan, they portrayed the architecture features of different types of sandstones and quantitatively characterized heterogeneities in a single sand body in meandering river facies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Buried hill karst reservoirs and their controls on productivity
Jincai Wang,Lun Zhao,Xiangzhong Zhang,Zhigang Yang,Haili Cao,Li Chen,Fachao Shan,Minghui Liu +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the characteristics of karst reservoirs and their controls on productivity were analyzed in vertical and horizontal directions, taking the NWKK carbonate rock oilfield in the South Turgay Basin in Kazakhstan as an example.
Journal ArticleDOI
Origin, distribution and implications on production of bedding-parallel fractures: A case study from the Carboniferous KT-I Formation in the NT oilfield, Precaspian Basin, Kazakhstan
Changhai Li,Changhai Li,Lun Zhao,Bo Liu,Hangyu Liu,Jianxin Li,Zifei Fan,Jincai Wang,Weiqiang Li,Wenqi Zhao,Meng Sun +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the formation mechanism, distribution and influences on oil production of bedding-parallel fractures (BPFs) in carbonate reservoirs and found that the length and aperture of BPFs range from centimeters to tens of meters and from 30μm to 100μm respectively.
