Journal ArticleDOI

Phenolic contents and antioxidant activities of bitter gourd (Momordica charantia L.) leaf, stem and fruit fraction extracts in vitro.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the water extract fractions of bitter gourd have different responses with different antioxidant methods, namely DPPH radical-scavenging activity and ferric reducing power.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phytochemicals and antioxidant activity of different fruit fractions (peel, pulp, aril and seed) of Thai gac (Momordica cochinchinensis Spreng)

TL;DR: The results showed that the aril had the highest contents for both lycopene and beta-carotene, whilst peel contained the highest amount of lutein, and the extracts of different fractions exhibited different levels of antioxidant activity in the systems tested.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fatty acids and proximate composition of eight Thai edible terricolous insects

TL;DR: The fatty acid composition and proximate analysis of eight terricolous insects suggested that the insect could be considered as a good nutritional food source especially for fat and protein.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phytochemicals, vitamin C and sugar content of Thai wild fruits

TL;DR: In this paper, 19 varieties of wild Thai wild fruits, collected from the natural forest in north-eastern Thailand, were analyzed for phytochemicals, anti-oxidant activity, vitamin C and sugar content.
Journal ArticleDOI

Wheat bran particle size influence on phytochemical extractability and antioxidant properties.

TL;DR: With reduction in particle size, there was a significant increase in extracted anthocyanins, carotenoids and ORAC value, indicating that particle size does effect the extraction of phytochemicals.
