High-Performance FPGA-Based CNN Accelerator With Block-Floating-Point Arithmetic
TL;DR: An optimized block-floating-point (BFP) arithmetic is adopted in the accelerator for efficient inference of deep neural networks in this paper, and improves the energy and hardware efficiency by three times.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
A Block-Floating-Point Arithmetic Based FPGA Accelerator for Convolutional Neural Networks
TL;DR: An efficient block-floating-point (BFP) arithmetic is proposed in this paper, and compared with 32-bit floating-point arithmetic, the memory and off-chip bandwidth requirements during convolution are reduced by 50% and 72.37%, respectively.
