Journal ArticleDOI
Assay for the Measurement of Copeptin, a Stable Peptide Derived from the Precursor of Vasopressin
TL;DR: Copeptin is stable for days after blood withdrawal and can be quickly and easily measured, and may be a useful alternative to direct measurement of AVP concentration.
Journal ArticleDOI
Measurement of Midregional Proadrenomedullin in Plasma with an Immunoluminometric Assay
TL;DR: MR-proADM is stable in plasma of healthy individuals and patients, and measurements may be useful for evaluating patients with sepsis, systemic inflammation, or heart failure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Immunoluminometric Assay for the Midregion of Pro-Atrial Natriuretic Peptide in Human Plasma
TL;DR: A new sandwich immunoassay for midregional proANP has been developed, which was named B.A.R.H.M.S SERISTRA® (B.R.)H.S AG), and shows the need for a reliable assay for this molecule, which has recently gained much interest as a potential new marker in the field of sepsis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of midregional pro-atrial natriuretic peptide with N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide in predicting survival in patients with chronic heart failure.
Stephan von Haehling,Ewa A. Jankowska,Nils G. Morgenthaler,Corrado Vassanelli,Luisa Zanolla,Piotr Rozentryt,Gerasimos Filippatos,Wolfram Doehner,Friedrich Koehler,Jana Papassotiriou,Dimitrios Th. Kremastinos,Waldemar Banasiak,Joachim Struck,Piotr Ponikowski,Andreas Bergmann,Stefan D. Anker,Stefan D. Anker +16 more
TL;DR: In chronic HF patients in NYHA functional class II to III and all subgroups of BMI and kidney function, MR-proANP added prognostic value to NT-proBNP, and in patients with BMI > or =30 kg/m2,MR-proAnP had higher prognostic power than NT- proBNP.
Journal ArticleDOI
Oxytocin alleviates the neuroendocrine and cytokine response to bacterial endotoxin in healthy men.
Martin Clodi,Greisa Vila,René Geyeregger,Michaela Riedl,Thomas M. Stulnig,Joachim Struck,Thomas A. Luger,Anton Luger +7 more
TL;DR: This paper used experimental bacterial endotoxinemia to examine the role of exogenous oxytocin administrated in rodents. But they did not examine the effect of the exogenous drugs on the performance of their experiments.
