Journal ArticleDOI

(3Z,6Z,9Z)-Nonadecatriene and enantiomers of (3Z,9Z)-cis-6,7-Epoxy-nonadecadiene as sex attractants for two geometrid and one noctuid moth species.

TL;DR: Sex attractants for the geometrid mothsEufidonia convergaria andCaripeta angustiorata, and the noctuid mothRivula propinqualis have been elucidated during field screening of a series of (3Z,6Z,9Z)-triene hydrocarbons and the racemic and enantiomerically enriched monoepoxydienes derived from those Hydrocarbons.
Journal ArticleDOI

Use of a sex attractant and an inhibitor for monitoring winter moth and bruce spanworm populations.

TL;DR: A single sex pherormone component was isolated from abdominal tip extracts of female Bruce spanworm females by capillary gas chromatography (GC), electroantennography, and mass spectrometry as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

(2S,4E)-2-Hydroxy-4-octen-3-one, a Male-Produced Attractant Pheromone of the Cerambycid Beetle Tylonotus bimaculatus.

TL;DR: Four independent field bioassays with synthetic compounds confirmed that adults of both sexes were attracted by the racemate of the major component, (E)-2-hydroxyoct-4-en-3-one, and no other cerambycid species were attracted in significant numbers.
