Identification and Characterization of Inhibitors of Multidrug Resistance Efflux Pumps in Pseudomonas aeruginosa: Novel Agents for Combination Therapy
Olga Lomovskaya,Mark S. Warren,Angela Lee,Jorge Galazzo,Richard Fronko,May Lee,Johanne Blais,Deidre Cho,Suzanne Chamberland,Tom Renau,Roger Leger,Scott J. Hecker,Will Watkins,Kazuki Hoshino,Hiroko Ishida,Ving J. Lee +15 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that inhibition of efflux pumps decreased the level of intrinsic resistance significantly, reversed acquired resistance, and resulted in a decreased frequency of emergence of P. aeruginosa strains that are highly resistant to fluoroquinolones.
Journal ArticleDOI
Surface localization of P34H an epididymal protein, during maturation, capacitation, and acrosome reaction of human spermatozoa.
TL;DR: The appearance and accumulation of P34H on the sperm plasma membrane during epididymal maturation, followed by its inaccessibility associated with ejaculation, its unmasking during capacitation, and finally its elimination after the acrosome reaction are in agreement with te proposed function of this sperm antigen.
Journal ArticleDOI
Primary health care professionals’ views on barriers and facilitators to the implementation of the Ottawa Decision Support Framework in practice
Annette M. O'Connor,Ian D. Graham,Danielle Saucier,Luc Côté,Johanne Blais,Michel Cauchon,Line Paré +6 more
TL;DR: Interventions to implement the ODSF in primary care practice will need to address a broad range of factors at the levels of the health professionals, the patients and the health care system.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antistaphylococcal Activity of TD-1792, a Multivalent Glycopeptide-Cephalosporin Antibiotic
TL;DR: TD-1792 is a new multivalent glycopeptide-cephalosporin antibiotic with potent activity against Gram-positive bacteria and a postantibiotic effect of >2 h was observed after exposure to TD- 1792.
Journal ArticleDOI
In Vitro Activities of RWJ-54428 (MC-02,479) against Multiresistant Gram-Positive Bacteria
Suzanne Chamberland,Johanne Blais,Monica Hoang,Cynthia Dinh,Dylan Cotter,Emmett L. Bond,Carla L. Gannon,Craig Park,François Malouin,Michael N. Dudley +9 more
TL;DR: This survey of the susceptibilities of more than 1,000 multidrug-resistant gram- positive isolates to RWJ-54428 indicates that this new cephalosporin has the potential to be useful in the treatment of infections due to gram-positive bacteria, including strains resistant to currently available antimicrobials.
