Purification and properties of bovine thymosin.
John A. Hooper,Mildred C. McDaniel,Gary B. Thurman,Geraldine H. Cohen,Richard S. Schulof,Allan L. Goldstein +5 more
TL;DR: The physiological consequences of experimental thymectomy in animals or the failure of the thymus to develop normally in man have demonstrated that this organ has an important influence on organ and tissue.
Journal ArticleDOI
Differentiation of t cells induced by preparations from thymus and by nonthymic agents : the determined state of the precursor cell
M. P. Scheid,M. K. Hoffmann,K. Komuro,U. Hämmerling,J. Abbott,E. A. Boyse,Geraldine H. Cohen,John A. Hooper,R. S. Schulof,Allan L. Goldstein +9 more
TL;DR: Summary of Experiments Showing Generation of T Cells from Precursor Cells under the Influence of Thymic and Nonthymlc Agents Material tested for inducer activity Criterion of T cell induction Source Mouse thymus Mouse spleen.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thymosin-induced differentiation of murine thymocytes in allogeneic mixed lymphocyte cultures.
TL;DR: It is proposed that thymosin treatment, when accompanied by antigen presentation, induces the two-step maturational sequence of pre-T yields T1 yields T2, and a relatively simple, rapid and quantitative in vitro microculture hioassay is presented.
