TL;DR: This work demonstrates quasi-optical, diffraction-limited two-dimensional image production by means of reflected pulses of terahertz (THz) radiation, which improves spatial resolution and temporal resolution of THz pulse range resolution.
Abstract: We demonstrate quasi-optical, diffraction-limited two-dimensional image production by means of reflected pulses of terahertz (THz) radiation. A spherical mirror is used to form a real one-to-one THz image of two 1-mm-diameter steel spheres, which is then scanned over a THz receiver. Diffraction-limited spatial (cross-range) resolution and THz pulse range resolution are simultaneously observed.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used free-space pulses of terahertz (THz) radiation to image nonuniform, opaque objects in a reflection geometry where the THz beam illuminates the target and its reflections are collected and measured.
Abstract: Summary form only given. Imaging experiments using free-space pulses of terahertz (THz) radiation have been demonstrated. Traditionally THz imaging systems generate images via transmission measurements. But imaging can be done in a reflection geometry where the THz beam illuminates the target and its reflections are collected and measured. Unlike others, this method allows the measurement of nonuniform, opaque objects.
