Journal ArticleDOI
Natural convection in droplet evaporation
TL;DR: The results show that when a droplet evaporates sufficiently fast it exhibits a vigorous interior flow that is driven by surface tension gradients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Growth of a dry spot under a vapor bubble at high heat flux and high pressure
TL;DR: In this article, a 2D model of the growth of a vapor bubble attached to a heating surface during saturated boiling is presented, where the heat conduction problem is solved in a liquid that surrounds a bubble with a free boundary and in a semi-infinite solid heater.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gas spreading on a heated wall wetted by liquid.
Yves Garrabos,Carole Lecoutre-Chabot,John Hegseth,Vadim Nikolayev,Daniel Beysens,Jean-Pierre Delville +5 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the two-phase fluid is very sensitive to the differential vapor recoil force and given an explanation that uses this nonequilibrium effect, which helps to understand the boiling crisis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thermalization of a two-phase fluid in low gravity: heat transferred from cold to Hot
TL;DR: During the quench the gas temperature considerably exceeded the temperature of the heating walls (overheating up to 23%).
